What is Chiropractic?
The modern era of chiropractic began in this country in 1895, although manipulation
has been practiced in many cultures around the world for several thousand years.
Today, chiropractic is a healthcare system of diagnosing and treating a variety of
health problems. Chiropractic diagnosis is used to identify neurological and
biomechanical integrity through appropriate chiropractic case management. The
promotion of good health and wellness, and the prevention of pain, dysfunction and
illness, is achieved through various modalities including manipulation, stretches,
exercises and proper nutrition.
Modern research and scientific inquiry continue to establish and validate
chiropractic medicine. Chiropractic works because of its direct and beneficial
impact on the nervous system and all other systems which rely on this miraculous
"computer." Because chiropractic is cost effective and can provide great relief,
most insurance companies and health plans now include coverage.

What is McKenzie?
The McKenzie Method is a philosophy of active patient treatment that emphasizes
intervention and prevention. It provides the patient with life-long pain
management skills.
Also known as mechanical diagnosis and therapy (MDT), McKenzie is based upon a
consistent "cause and effect" relationship between mechanical forces and pain
responses often accompanied by a change in motion/function.
Most low back pain is "mechanical" in origin, meaning that an applied force caused
the pain. A basic philosophy of McKenzie's theory is that the reverse force can
probably abolish the pain and restore function.
